View Full Version : Q-Tec 650watt PSU's are great
I went and bought a Q-Tec 650watt PSU as a temp replacment as my old Levicom was on it last legs and what a great PSU this is running everything you see below without any problems rails are stable has hell I might not bother splashing out £80 on a new PSU when this £30 PSU is doing a very good job. So if your having problems with your PSU with this motherboard go buy yourself a 650watt Q-Tec PSU and save yourself some money.

Q-Tec PSU's are not regarded as that high of a quality PSU, but I'm glad yours is working good for you. Keep us posted down the road on how its doing.

Maybe I got lucky just landed on a good one . Personally I don't usually buy cheap PSU's, but I was in desperate need for a new one so I niped down to my local computer shop were the selection is not all that great either a Q-Tec or Q-Tec and bought the best one they had. Glad to say thou it been perfect not caused me any trouble whatsoever so I might stick with it a few months and see how it goes.

I had a Qtec 550 watt, and it was ****e,kept getting the 5 second boot problems. changed it to an Antec 480 trueblue and have eliminated that problem at least:D Still getting bsod's 0x00000024 errors all the time though:(

I must say this is the first positive Qtec post I have seen on any forum I go to and I go to a lot of them. Yes do keep us informed as to how it works out for you. Hopefully they are getting better.
Do you OC and what vcore and memory voltages are you running?
What are the rails looking like?
Whats the model number on it??
Yes I've managed to get my 3200+ Winny to 2.6Ghz with only a slight increase in voltage to the CPU. Memory voltage I've set to 2.7v in the bios eveything else I've left everything stable. Honest to god this Q-Tec PSU has been perfect voltage rails are very stable
12+ is 11.92 increase to 12.1 under load
5+ is at 5.1 stays at 5.1 under load
Voltage test were done with a multi.
As for the model just google Q-Tec 650watt PSU you'll soon come across it.
Let me tell you, this cheap PSU is putting most PSU's I have which cost twice as much to shame. Abit AV8 is proberly one of the most fussist motherboards on the planet to have when it comes to PSU's and this Q-Tec is running it pefectly. I've even modded it with quieter fans to:cool:

The Q-Tec 650watt is the lastest PSU out from them I know the 550watt have been around a long while maybe they use better stuff in the 650watt PSU's. Two of my freinds have also bought one with no problems.
